PRINTS a la CARTE
A physical print is a wonderful way to connect with the music and support this project. These archival, museum-quality prints reveal details not seen on a screen. Most images published here as well as from my archive are available as a custom print. I will also be curating a special selection of favorite images.
Occasionally, I will be offering very special editions and one-off prints that are signed by the featured artists as well.

About JACOB:
I have been photographing music professionally for over 20 years, publishing photo essays with NPR Music, Rolling Stone and NYT’s Lens Blog. From 2014-2019, I produced, wrote and photographed the portrait/interview series ‘Contact’ and documentary photo-essay series ‘On The Road’ with with Mother Jones. I’ve shot culture assignments for The New York Times, visually complimenting the writing of renowned critics like Jon Pareles, Ben Ratliff, Nate Chinen, and Jon Caramanica. And I’ve had commissions to create album artwork and publicity portraits for Steve Earle, Natalie Merchant, Joe Jackson, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, John Pizzarelli, The Cactus Blossoms and others. I also play bass guitar, collect records, obsessively futz with vintage hi-fi equipment and fly fish.
Surveying the last 20 years, my most meaningful work has overwhelmingly come from self-initiated and self-funded projects, so the time has come to do this work with you and for you.
“You seem to know what you’re doing.” - Patti Smith
“You’re a Peach” - Linda Ronstadt
“Gosh, you are good.” - Sacha Lecca, Deputy Photo Editor, Rolling Stone
"He takes a good picture." - Daniel Lanois
